Our busy summer

Summer is over. We haven't had Labor Day, yet, but school has started. I cannot believe the time passed so quickly. We were busy--but it was a different kind of busy than the regular school year, ya know? Savannah went to CLUE Camp for a week at Getwell Elementary. She went to Girl Scout Day Camp for 3 days in Kennett. She and I went to Sycamore View Youth Camp for a week in Burlison. She went to Vacation Bible School with her cousin, Caitlin, at Park Avenue Church of Christ in Memphis--where Nanny attends. She and her friend, Lyric, went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D. They went swimming together. Lyric and her mom and dad came to a Redbirds ballgame with us--along with 2 girls from her Girl Scout Troop and some other friends from church. She and Nanny and Caitlin and I went to Bakerville Church of Christ for Ladies Day. Caitlin came to stay with us 2 different times this summer. Brooke came once and stayed with Nanny. Savannah stayed at Paw and Miss Joanne's house for 2 nights while 2 of Miss Joanne's grandsons where here visiting. We all went to Mountain View, AR for a few days. MaMa went with us. Kevin and Amy came up, too. We swam in the creek, cooked out, went through Blanchard Springs Caverns--AWESOME!, rode the 4-wheeler, went fishing in the boat. We have been to Chuck E. Cheese's for an afternoon of fun, too. In the midst of all of this, Bill and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. We, also, were elected to positions on Savannah's school's Parent Teacher Organization. So, I have made signs for the hallways, put tablecloths and baskets of treats in the school lounge, shopped for school supplies for a raffle, conducted my first 2 PTO Board meetings, revised the By Laws, picked up and delivered 60 boxed lunches, bagged treats and bottled water for my teachers, developed a volunteer form and put up 3 bulletin boards. I have moved furniture in my house, put William in a "big boy bed", gotten the piano tuned, set up lessons and delivered 91 boxes of donated Girl Scout cookies to a local recipient. We didn't take enough pictures. But, we spent time with family. We spent time with friends. We have had a busy, but extremely blessed summer. Now, it is back to homework, piano lessons, maybe basketball, packing school lunches, Girl Scout meetings and badge work and trying to get to bed at a decent hour. Some people might think this sounds so mundane. However, sharing all of this just reminds me how content I am becoming with my life. I hope you can say the same.
